First know that there is a lot of junk out there about getting started. So you are not alone when you feel confused and over whelmed.

Wading through it can be a distraction. Here are some simple things to remember:

1) You need a market to sell to. Not having one is like trying to set up a business in a dying town. You might get some customers, but they won’t come around much!

2) You need a product to sell. That could be your own product, or it could be somebody else’s product
you promote, like an affiliate program. The purpose is to put money in your pocket.

3) You’ll need a domain. I suggest starting with a “.com” address, because it looks much more professional. And pick a domain that’s your own name, if it’s available. That will give you a foundation to build on, no matter what direction you want to go, and it will let you build your personal brand.

4) You’ll need a website. It just makes things so much easier if you have a site that you control and can change, however you want.

5) You’ll need a Hosting service. In order to have your website online you’ll need a hosting service to get it live on the internet. There are several hosting service available. Personally I found GVO to be a reliable source, and they provide great backup, and free marketing tools.

6) You’ll need an autoresponder. This lets you build a mailing list and keep in contact with the people on it. That’s where your long-term income will come from. I personally use AWeber.com, and GetResponce.com.

However, if you become a GVO member, you get your own autoresponder also.

7) You’ll need to have a capture page. A capture page is really an one page website that asks people to give you their name and email address, in exchange for something free, like a download report or eBook, related to your business. It must have perceived value to get people on your mailing list

Once you have your autoresponder set up, check out Email Promos Exposed to learn how to write promotional emails that convert like crazy.

You should consider setting up a blog at a separate site. This is a great way to keep your content fresh, which will get you more free traffic from search engines. And linking to your main site from your blog can help your search engine rank for your main site as well. WordPress.com will give you a free site.

You’ll want to be able to put videos on your blog and website, so use EasyVideoProducer. They have a free program to get started.

9) You’ll need a payment processor. This is a way to take credit card payments online. I strongly recommend PayPal or ClickBank, because they’re reliable and secure. ClickBank also gives you a built-in affiliate program, and they’ll handle paying your affiliates for you.

That’s literally all you need to get started. There are other things that you CAN have and do, but the above are the essentials.

What make this easier, is that you can get all the above services at GVO; except PayPal and ClickBank.

Okay you’re thinking I still don’t know where to start. If you don’t have a product or know what market to go after you can find a mentor, or a coach, or an affiliate program, but you first need to consider:

1. What do you have some knowledge about?
2. What are you passionate about?
3. What is your strongest desire?

You will be more successful and enjoy it more if you are in a business that you have a passion for the product or service, and a strong desire to become successful.

There is a Home Based Business that doesn’t require you to sell, or recruit, and that is Data Entry.

All Data Entry Opportunities are not the same, and like other opportunities there are many that don’t help you Make Money…

A friend has found that Global Data Entry is an opportunity that helps you learn how to maximize your income in a Data Entry business. For just a small fee, they provide all of the software, training, tutorials, research, companies, jobs & resources. The software is worth more than the cost of the program. The bonuses mentioned there are genuine bonuses and not just something they want to throw on you. They are actually being sold at the cost mentioned at their site.

Data Entry opportunities are not a Get-Rich-Quick-Scheme. -Time and effort is required, but not without being rewarded. This is not for the lazy – You have to work at achieving results and learn new things. Some of the Data Entry work is very simple.

So if you want to make money without selling a product or service, or recruiting people to build a business, then look into Global Data Entry or other Data Entry Opportunities. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t let others know about your opportunity, since that is another way to make money.

Save & Earn an Income

More people are looking for ways to save money on their shopping, and earn extra income. The economy has many people under or unemployed. Finding that extra money for Christmas Shopping puts stress on a family and its budget,

So I’ve been looking into ways people can save on their shopping, and have the option to earn extra money, even a full time income. I’m going to tell you of two that I joined, and why.

There are many Shopping Mall Portals which help you get discounts on clothing, electronics, even discounts on groceries. Some charge a monthly membership fee, others a one time enrollment fee. But I only found one that also gives you money back. That is Green Back Street.

I’m not going to try and sell you on joining Green Back Street. I joined because a good friend recommended Green Back Street, and it is free to join. No monthly fees, no monthly purchasing requirements. All Shopping Portals get a referral fee from the stores you link to from their site. That is how they make money. But GBS shares the income with you, in fact you can get up to 30% back, according to Green Back Street.

Green Back Street is also MLM Network Marketing Company. They want you to refer others to GBS, and for everyone you have join GBS you earn 50% of what they earn back. There are several ways you can earn extra or full time income from Green Back Street, so check it out.

Now I want to tell you of another Income Generating Opportunity, that also offers you savings on your medical expenses, groceries, household goods, restaurants, movies, travel, free professional services, and more. The company is called Kootiki (previouly 2 plus 7).

I wasn’t looking for another Network Marketing company when my friend Brad Marcus kept telling me I had to see this short video. After watching the video I still didn’t think this was something I needed. But after Brad got me to go to the website to see the benefits, then I realized that not only is the service worth more than 100 times the sign up fee of $27, but what a great business for may people.

Even if I didn’t want to recruit others I’d save more than $27 a month.

I’d like to share with you information about Home Base Businesses, and help you avoid some of the pit falls.

There are many Home Base Business Opportunities that have been around for several years, and many

Work from Home

people have gone on to make millions of dollars. Others in these older companies are making a full time income, and others may be only making $200 to $300 month. The difference is how hard they work the business. Someone joining the older companies today, like Amway, are not likely to make a lot of money, because of all the competing Amway distributors.

Others have found that after 10 to 20 years ( or even a shorter time) their company has gone out of business, normally do to poor management. The result is a loss of income one has built over years of hard work, and the struggle to build another income source.

It’s like working for a company your whole life, and because of today’s bad economy, you’re told you’re losing your job, because the company is cutting back, or going out of business.

Even with the bad economy a new Home Business Opportunity, or system pops up, saying they’re difference, or better. They either have a better product, better system, better compensation plan, or they’ll do the work for you (no one will build a business for you, you have to build it yourself. They might help you, but your success depends on you).

There is one thing you should know, and that is that over 92% of the people that start a home business, either drop out of their program within 3 to 6 months, or never make enough to cover their expenses. Mainly because they haven’t taken the time to learn what it takes to become successful.

As a result many lose a lot of money, or give up before they make a profit at all.

You can be part of the 8% that build a successful Home Base Business, so here what to think about.

Whether you are getting ready to start a home business or currently are in one, your success depends on you. So start by asking yourself these questions:

1. What am I looking for in a home base business?

2. What am I passionate about?

3. Do I like talking with people?

5. What experiences, skills, and strengths do I have to apply to my business selection?

6. Am I willing to do what ever it takes to succeed?

7. How much money do I have available to build my business.

If you do not answer YES to questions 3, 4 & 6 then do not join a Network Marketing business. If you said YES then the other questions are important to selecting the right opportunity. I’ll talk about that in a minute.

If you do not like talking to people there is always an Internet Base Business that you can consider. Whether it’s becoming an affiliate selling someone elses product, or your own. But here again you have to have or develop a passion for the product, not just a passion to make money.

With out a strong passion, and desire to succeed you won’t get through the rough times that comes with all businesses.

Whether you get into Internet Marketing or Network Marketing you will need some training. That training starts with learning marketing. On a future article I’ll cover the topic of training, and what one needs to learn to have the skills to reach a high income level.

Now back to selecting the right Homebase Business opportunity for you…

Let us assume you are a person who likes talking to people, and you have a strong desire to succeed. Are you willing to devote time every day or week to getting the training you’ll need? If so, then it gets down to picking a Network Marketing business that has products or services you have or can be passionate about.

The importance of that is you will need to be a user of the products or services in order to earn your commission every month. That is called an autoship order, which can cost you anywhere from $50 to $250 per month depending on the company you join. Your initial goal will be to sponsor enough people quickly so your commission equal or exceeds your monthly autoship.

You may be asking why this is important. Keeping up with one’s monthly autoship cost has been a major reason why many drop out of their Home Business Opportunities.

So like the products or service you will be selling, or don’t join that business. The money you’ll need to get started will include your initial investment to join (normally $60 to $1200, some less), 3 months of autoship minimum, and anywhere from $49 to $97 per month for training (this is in case the company you join doesn’t have a Internet Attraction Marketing training program).

Training and a good support team are both important to you success..

By the way, I do know programs that you can start for less than $30.

It’s hard to cover this topic in a short article. I do want to give you examples of Network Marketing and Internet Businesses, to give you some idea what is available, so I’ll cover them in another article soon.

-It is estimated that by 2010 two-thirds of all private wealth in the US will rest in the hands of women.

So if you want to go were the money is, Women should be one target market you don’t want to overlook.

Here are some things you can do:

1) Review women’s websites like “WebTV4Women” to learn the kind of information of interest to women.

2) Write about what women want or need to know…as long as it has value.

3) If you are a women, join some of the online women sites and forums.

4) Guys, read what women read, and get your wife or girlfriend’s views for an eBook, or article that you can give away, so you can start building your mailing list. (note: your goal is to provide information of value, so people will join your opt-in list.. “The Money is in the List”)
